Bill's family homesteaded in Parker Canyon and the Tombstone area in 1869. He lived and worked on the family ranch off of Charleston Road for much of his life.
He attended the University of Arizona where he was a member of the Aggie House, and he was enlisted in the Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1945.
Bill was employed for 30 years and retired as an assistant fire chief from the Fort Huachuca Fire Department.
Bill was a member and chairman for 18 years with the Hereford-National Resource & Conservation District and was a life member of the American Legion Roy Fourr Post #24 in Tombstone. He was a member of the Arizona Cattle Growers Association, the Pioneer Cowboy Association, and the Aircraft Owner and Pilots Association. Bill was a member of the Tombstone Community Congregational Church with a position as a moderator and 15 years in the Men's Fellowship.
