Norma Roselle Burch Proctor

b. October 25, 1929 Elgin, Arizona
d. January 29, 2011 Tucson, Arizona

Norma was born in Elgin, Arizona, October 25, 1929 and was the daughter of Frank and Grace Douglas Burch. She had six siblings: Wanda, Joe, Bruce, Lila, Joanne and Frank. Norma married George Redondo Proctor in November 1946, raising George Douglas Proctor, Mary (who died in infancy), Bob, Mike and Kathleen. George and Norma retired to Patagonia.

Along the way Norma earned her college degree, and she always stressed the importance of learning, sometimes working as a substitute teacher and librarian. Norma loved to entertain, making great friends everywhere she went. She was artistic, painting original oils and practicing crafts from refinishing dressers to framing pieces of depression-era glass. Whether exposing her kids to Patsy Cline, splurging on a store-bought cheeseburger when dad was on the road, or listening to bluegrass at Lila's, Norma loved life deeply. Norma spent the last two years in Many Farms with Kathleen, her pets and a big sky.
