and 3 older brothers where his parents bought the Canelo Hills Ranch in
Canelo, Arizona. He was very active in 4-H along with his brothers.
He graduated from Patagonia Union High School in 1961 and from there
he graduated from the University Of Arizona. He attended Medical School
at the University of Guadalajara, Mexico, where he received his
Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree. He completed his internship in Nova Scotia.
He moved to New York, deciding not to pursue his medical career
and instead built a successful contracting business.
